Aloo Gobi Recipe
Introduction:
Aloo Gobi is a simple yet flavorful dish made with potatoes and cauliflower, cooked with aromatic spices. It’s a staple in Indian households and goes well with chapati or rice.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium potatoes (cubed)
- 1 medium cauliflower (cut into florets)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Sauté the Vegetables:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them sizzle.
Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
2. Add Spices & Vegetables:
Add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
Add potatoes and cauliflower. Mix well and cover the pan. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Finish the Dish:
Sprinkle garam masala and cook for another 2 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander.
4. Serve:
Serve hot with chapati or rice.
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, add a small amount of ghee towards the end of cooking.
- You can add peas to this dish for added texture and taste.
