Ingredients:
- 500g pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 200g fresh mozzarella (sliced)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Flour (for rolling the dough)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 250°C (475°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
2. Prepare the Dough:
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a thin circle (about 12 inches in diameter).
3. Assemble the Pizza:
Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly on the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Place the mozzarella slices evenly on the sauce.
Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper.
4. Bake the Pizza:
Transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
5. Garnish and Serve:
Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves.
Slice and serve hot with a drizzle of olive oil.
Tips:
- For extra crispiness, bake the pizza on a preheated stone or metal tray.
- Add toppings like prosciutto, arugula, or mushrooms for variety.
